Welcome to the Pursue You Podcast, where we are empowering you to continually reflect, design and pursue who you were created to be so you can give the gift of your best self to your family, community, and business!

While I’ve been preparing to launch this podcast, I talked with a few other podcasters about what it’s like, and they all agreed that getting the first episode out is the hardest part. I feel like that aligns with so many things in life. The first step can feel like a mountain. So, why is it so big? Why is this first episode so hard? Because this first episode is the foundation of this podcast.

Today, I want you to feel inspired. Whether you’re joining us and listening on launch day or you’re just now discovering the show, I want to inspire you to Pursue You!

In today’s episode, I’m sharing the journey that led me to re-frame the way I think, and ultimately led me to discover what I’m calling the three foundational pillars of this podcast. Reflect. Design. Pursue. I hope that you’re inspired to pursue you as we walk this journey together each week on the podcast.

[3:10] I talk about going on a retreat hoping to find clarity on why I was feeling dissatisfied even though I was in a good season, and how I was embarrassed to say that my life is so good, but I’m not happy about it.

[3:40] I share about how the speaker at the retreat opened my eyes to the God’s plans for me, and my realization that I shouldn’t be lowering my standards, but rather, raising them!

[4:40] I share about realizing that while I thought raising my standards would ultimately still lead to more dissatisfaction, the problem was actually my view of my dissatisfaction.

[6:35] I share how I re-framed my beliefs from dissatisfaction being a bad thing, to understanding that dissatisfaction is a blessing. It’s a blessing because I’m being called to something bigger than me. It’s not that I’m not good enough, or haven’t accomplished enough, but that I’m worthy enough to be called to something more.

[8:33] I explain the three pillars of this podcast. Reflect. Design. Pursue.

[10:33] I explain that while pursuing yourself is hard, it will lead you to growth and transformation, which will allow you to give the people around you the gift of your best self, which is the best gift you can possibly give.
